Baby & Newborn Photography Association (BANPAS)

Posted by Kim Rix on June 8, 2017

I am delighted when parents call to ask about Newborn Photography. I cherish the opportunity to capture such an important time in your life.

As a newborn and baby photographer, I take safety very seriously. It might surprise you to know that the Newborn Photography industry is unregulated. Unfortunately, photographers like me, have to take it upon ourselves to be trained and educated. We want to ensure that the beautiful portraits we create, are done safely.

Being a newborn and baby photographer requires a unique set of skills. There is a worldwide organisation that exists to support photographers like me. It provides access to safety training and resources that we can use to provide clients like you with a better service.

The organisation is called BANPAS (Baby & Newborn Photography Association) . You can find me on their directory of photographers. They also have a facebook page for pregnant and new parents.

I’d be delighted to chat to you about how I can create a beautiful album of your newborn. We can talk about how I do that safely. For parents and grandparents looking for something extra special, I offer a number of baby photography programs, to help you make the most of your baby’s first year.

I have a portable mini-studio which can be set up in your livingroom. It is a good size for photographing your baby once he/she is able to sit up. I also bring a variety of props, including the nest in the photo above. I have a frequestly asked questions page to help you. For any other questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
